New Website

As promised we have a new website up and running. So for all further information on the Space Project visit spaceproject.org.uk

Space Project Website

At the moment we’re working on a new website that will hopefully be a lot better suited to our needs than the wordpress blog we’re currently using. Until then sorry if things are a bit unclear, they should be sorted soon. If you need clarification on any events we’re running or information about the space then please send us an email. In the meantime keep coming back here for updates and watch this space!

We’re in!

We’ve moved into the space! Finally got the keys to the new hub of radical education in Leeds on Tuesday! Seeing as we don’t waste any time we had our first public meeting that evening with about 40 people attending. After an introduction to the space we handed over to people to introduce their own ideas for events they might like to run in the Space, then had a chance for everyone to socialise and chat to each other. Some really good ideas came up and we’ve already had some additions to the calendar so keep an eye out for new stuff! Next up we have a day of cleaning and decorating the space and maybe even making some furniture from midday on saturday. Please come along if you have the afternoon free and want to get involved in the Space. Thanks to everyone who came on Tuesday and made the first meeting a success!

Create The Space Project!

The Space Project is a new, vibrant venue for discussions, film showings, seminars, talks,
workshops, reading groups, archives, enquiries and other creative
projects.

The space is located in Mabgate, close to the city centre, hosting events that explore social change (broadly defined) in an engaged and participatory way.

Facilitated by the Really Open University, we’re seeking other groups and
individuals who would like to contribute to the life of the space by
hosting events and contributing to building a non-commercial, self-managed
space in Leeds.

Do you have something you think you would like to do? Then come along and make this space your own.
If you can’t make it please get in touch with us at wearethespaceproject@gmail.com

The ‘space project’ will be run as a not-for-profit venture, with no paid
staff and events being free or donations-only.

7.30pm – 9.30pm, 4th October
